As specialist department (“Fachstelle”) for trans*, intersex and nonbinary you can contact us for all questions on trans identity, intersex and nonbinary topics.

Tasks and goals

We offer professional advice for organizations, institutions, experts and decision-makers.

We share current information and offer educational opportunities.

We create and maintain networks and enable the exchange of specialist knowledge and experiences on TIN topics in Berlin.

We support the interests of trans*, intersex and nonbinary people and their families/friends in socio-political ways.

The work of the specialist department

The special department TIN is specialized on the topics trans*, intersex and nonbinarity. It is the contact point for the (professional) public and offers peer counseling and empowerment from and for trans*, intersex and nonbinary people and promotes their visibility and participation.

The work of the specialist department TIN is subdivided in the four areas counseling, networking, empowering and educational work.

Counseling – psychosocial and professional for all questions around trans*, intersex and nonbinary alsp specific for trans*, intersex and nonbinary refugees, to § 45b PStG and trans* sex workers.

Goals: Informations, empowering, raising awareness and promoting decision-making skills.

Networking – We are planning and create new networks for specific trans*, intersex and nonbinary topic, also we are engaged since years in different networks and maintain contacts and professional exchanges with various institutions, groups and organizations.

Goals: Promoting the exchange and dissemination of TIN expertise.

Empowering – we organize empowering-workshops and diverse group offers, like guided, thematically working groups and offers in the area of sports and health.

Goals: Strengthening self-help, self-confidence, self-determination and visibility.

Educational work – we organize lectures, panel discussions, training courses and workshops and offer technical input at external events.

Goals: Education and raising public/professional awareness.

  • Their relatives and caregivers as well
  • Other people with questions about gender and gender assignment
  • Professionals, work professionally with TIN people or whose fields of work are relevant to the topics of trans*, inter* or gender/gender assignment
  • Organizations, institutions, government agencies and multipliers
