Visiting project

“Get visitors more often?”, is the first project of this kind, which is aimed at trans*, intersex and nonbinary people, who are older and/or are not able to travel alone because of restricted mobility (physical & psychological reasons) and wanting to exchange ideas with other trans, intersex and nonbinary people.

*there is no age limitation, you decide whether you feel addressed or not, regardless of age

Who we are

The Visiting project is coordinated by a small team in Berlin. We are people of different ages, with more or less impairments, positioned as trans* and/or non-binary and we are white. We are really looking forward to exchange ideas with people, who are already a bit old and/or not very mobile.

What we are doing

We are visiting older and/or trans*, intersex and nonbinary people with reduced mobility, to talk about this or that, maybe making side trip into the trans*, intersex and nonbinary world, reading a book together, listening to life stories or drawing a picture together. Possibilities to exchange exist in different ways.

However, the visit project is not intended to provide individual assistance, care or cleaning assistance. It does not replace social workers, therapists or similar. It is okay, to go shopping together or similar, if it fits for both parts, but this should not be the rule.

This was the actual idea of ​​the project, which was pursued for 5 years.

Pandemic break

Since march 2020 the pandemic put a stop to the whole great plan after 5 years of development work. These times are difficult, visitings are becoming rare. Living alone and not being able to be en route, the fear of being infected, because there are previous illnesses, a bad thing, especially for people whose mobility is already limited.
